The Ten of Swords

The Ten of Swords usually implies hopes blasted or grief.

You must remember that this may not mean you, it may mean others surrounding you, including opponents and rivals, will come to grief. In some cases, it signifies a psychological death, where you lose a set of false beliefs. In association with the Ace of Swords, it can signify that severe limitations and restraints are imminent.

The Ten of Swords or the Lord of Ruin card is indeed an ominous card that most people are afraid to open. Most tarot card readers would vouch that the appearance of this card presages a painful occurrence.

This, however, may not always be so. The Ten of Swords carries a hidden message, which needs to be interpreted correctly. This card, in fact, represents the power of our mind that is comprised of our thoughts, beliefs and desires.

 We must understand that it is our desires that make us what we are. If our desires are moral and ethical and if we try our best to reach the highest limits of our spiritual potential, there is no reason why we should not lead a happy and fulfilled life.

On the other hand if we believe in our infirmities and allow our weaker desires to prevail, we are attracting negative energies that cause us pain. This card basically indicates that our thoughts and actions in the present create our future.
